  • The PaleoFood mailing list has collected many recipes. All have no grains, no gluten, no dairy. no beans/legumes, no refined sugar, or other Neolithic foods. Most would be acceptable for people on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, so these would be good for people with IBS.

  • Heather Van Vorous has organized her pages into a comprehensive site Help For IBS.com. Still an essential guide for the newly diagnosed.
  • Sophie has a personal website, IBS Tales, that she set up to archive people's IBS experiences.
  • Dientamoeba Fragilis tells the story of how their IBS diagnosis turned out to really be the amoebic parasite Dientamoeba Fragilis. Then gets into how common bacterial/parasitic overgrowth for IBS patients, and mentions some studies.
  • IBS Resource Center has information, online articles, FAQs, illustrations, descriptive links, books and reviews related to IBS. Put up by Peter Waite.
  • Someone has put up My Story of Living with IBS. It covers all the things they have tried over the years.
  • The Gottschall Specific Carbohydrate Diet claims to chronic diarrhea and other intestinal disorders. The primary site is SCD Web Library. Another is SCDiet.com. Gluten is one of the foodstuffs completely removed in this diet. A page of links on this: The Gluten-Free Page. Most dairy is also removed. Only special yogurt is allowed.   • L. M. Hale believes that IBS, and other disorders, are actually symptoms of one disease which he has called Abdominal Circulatory Disorder Syndrome. It is caused by inadequate flow of blood in the abdominal cavity which leaves the body unable to defend itself against the microorganisms always present in the digestive tract. HET Inversion Explained gives an overview of the recommended exercises. A book is for sale.
  • Heather Van Vorous has Eating for IBS, an Irritable Bowel Syndrome Diet and Cookbook. It contains dietary information for IBS, with eating and cooking strategies and recipes. Much of the information is at the site.
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome Guides is a site put up by Amazon.com affiliate Peter Waite. I liked it better back when he was an associate and it was a simple book list with reviews.
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome & the Mind-Body/Brain-Gut Connection by William B. Salt II, M.D. An 8-Step, 12-Week Plan for Living a Healthy Life with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), another Functional Bowel Disorder or Colitis.
  • The IBS Starch-Free Diet by Carol Sinclair. It is a book site about eliminating starch from your diet to eliminate the pain and symptoms of IBS.
