I participated as a speaker in an APEC-sponsored program on the protection of intellectual property rights in September 1999. Since another U.S. speaker had to drop out of the program, I ended up giving two lectures (one on copyright, the other on chip protection) on consecutive days, and leaving the country a few hours after the second lecture.
I returned to Bangkok a month later as part of a USDEL for consultations on IPR protection.
