This was scanned at 2700dpi from a 35mm slide. If you are viewing this on a typical monitor setting of around 100dpi then the detail image is at about the same level of enlargement as a 30x40 print. You can clearly make out the individual letters of the word "group" on the helmet, even though each letter is only about five pixels wide.

And this is from a Pro Photo CD scan at about 4000dpi (which would give a 40x60 print at 100dpi). Not bad from a 35mm frame!
