FEBRUARY CLUB MEETING

The public is welcome to our monthly Club meetings, usually held on the third Thursday of the month. Our meeting will be held at 7:30 PM on Thursday, February 15th, at the Park Slope United Methodist Church, 6th Ave. & 8th Street in the basement (enter through the garden gate on 6th Ave). Map

    AGENDA:

    • DDDB lawsuit against Atlantic Yards:
    • DDDB spokesperson on pending lawsuits
    • Discussion of, and vote on, CBID joining as a co-plaintiff the lawsuit brought by Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn. The ExComm has recommended that the Club join this lawsuit.

  • Various elected officials: No details available. Yet to be determined.

  • Run-off for final Executive Committee position:
    There will be a run-off election for the 30th member-at-large position on the Executive Committee. Richard Bruce and David Wynyard have tied at 56 votes for that position in the Annual Club Elections.

    Members who have paid their 2006 dues may vote in the run-off election on February 15. Others will have to have paid their 2007 dues by December 15, 2006.

The next Executive Committee meeting will take place at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2007,

The meeting will take place in the basement at 1205 8th Avenue, between 12th and 13th Streets in Park Slope. We thank Warren Miner and Ellen Raider for hosting the meeting. Map

FEBRUARY 20 SPECIAL ELECTION
CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT 40

There will be a special election on February 20 to fill the seat in the 40th Councilmanic District, vacated by Yvette Clarke when she was elected to Congress. We have listed below the candidates filed with the NYC Board of Elections. In such special elections, the candidates run as independents on their own tickets. CBID co-sponsored, with Democracy for New York City and others, a candidates' debate on Tuesday January 30 in Kensington. Read about it in Flatbush Life.
