We voted at our meeting on January 18 to support the March on Washington on January
27 to oppose the war in Iraq. Many Club members participated in the
march.

| CBID marched in the March and
Rally against the War on March 20, 2004, the first
anniversary of the beginning of the war in Iraq. CBID then Pres
Judy Hoffman, center, led CBID activists in the rally. Here she

| In 2003, before
the war began, we adopted a resolution
against going to war in Iraq, and we marched for peace in the anti-war demonstrations in Manhattan on
February 15, 2003. In the photo on the right (by Burnley
Duke Dame), CBID First VP John Keefe and former CBID Pres
Linda Brown held up the CBID banner at the 7th Ave. F station
before we left for Manhattan. |
At our Sept 18,
2003 meeting, after a spirited debate, we voted to support the
OCTOBER 25 NATIONAL MARCH ON WASHINGTON anti-war
demonstration.
In the winter &
spring of 2001-2002, we joined in the weekly picketing of the FEDERAL DETENTION CENTER in Brooklyn, where
detainees were being held without charges or access to the courts. The
Club called on the Bush Administration to FREE
THE DETAINEES.
