Jeremy M. Posner
It looks like I'm finally getting a chance to update this page a bit more regularly.
I'm currently in the process of finding a new job. If you're in the market for someone to do some web development work in the NYC area, take a look at my resume.
I don't find myself in pictures too often, so I don't have too many pictures on this page. I've only got a few still shots of myself. However, you can find lots of video of some of the interviews I've done on Film Scouts. More on that below...
In February 1998, I worked with the team from Ericsson on the official website for the 70th Grammy Awards. Afterwards, I got to go to the official party, where this picture was taken of me with a couple of the engineers from Ericsson. (I'm the underdressed one. It wasn't my fault, really.)
You can see a picture of me at the Forbidden City
during my trip to Beijing back in November 1996.
What have I been up to?
People always seem to always be asking me what I'm up to. The simple answer is that it depends on the week.
- Up until very recently, my "day job" was with Film Scouts. My responsibilities are a bit varied. I maintain the site itself, and spent some time last year designing and implementing a new database back end to manage the content. I am also the editor and producer of the original video interviews. I have even gotten to conduct some of the interviews myself. Not a bad gig...
- When I'm not working on Film Scouts or a show, I find myself spending increasing amounts of time and energy at
Congregation Or Zarua- New York City's newest Conservative Synagogue, where I'm not only Webmaster, but can occasionally be found on the bimah leading a service or three. In February 1999, we celebrated our shul's 10th birthday.
- Back in 1996, I was brought back into the world of theatre by a friend. Since then, I've designed sound for more productions than I care to count, ranging from some showcases, to a recent Off-Broadway design. I've also been working with a group called
the 52nd Street Project which does some
wonderful work with a group of kids from Hell's Kitchen.
- I've recently become somewhat involved with UJA Young Leadership here in the city. In addition to enjoying the events, I've taken a bit of a leadership role with the Entertainment Group.
See, I'm really not doing all that much.
Links, links and more links...
- I'm a die-hard Macintosh user. In fact, my day would not be complete
without getting the latest news about the Mac from Ric Ford's MacIntouch
site.
- I like to enjoy a nice, eclectic range of stuff around town. You are just as likely to find me enjoying music at Arlene Grocery as Carnegie Hall. In order to make sure that I get out at least a few times a year, I subscribe to both The Met and The Mets.
- I'm something of a sports fan, and not into jumping on some of the bandwagons we've had in this town in the past few years. I'll be one of the first to admit to rooting for the Mets, Jets, Knicks, and Rangers, even when they've been embarrassingly bad.
- When not being too much of a sloth, I work out at The
92nd St Y, just a few blocks away.
- New York Subway Resources-
The best way to get around NYC, especially coming home at 3am...
- My other
favorite city.
- The New York City Beer Guide-
A good listing of places to drink in NYC. I prefer to get my beer at d.b.a. or the Peculier Pub. Of
course, now I live right around the corner from The Bear Bar and Ruby's
Tap House. Fortunately, I've resisted some of the temptation.
- Life wouldn't be quite the same without Zonker
Harris and Mike Doonesbury giving political commentary.
- I've found myself watching an aweful lot of Law
& Order lately, both the new episodes on NBC
and the reruns on A&E.
- I need my music, especially a daily
dosage of Bob Dylan...
- JewishGen- The official home
of Jewish Genealogy on the net, run by a distant cousin.
- And finally: For
the inner child in all of us...
Friends & Relatives on the Net...
- Relatives:
- Terry Ann Krulwich-
Her CV's don't list that she's my mother. Probably just as well, since someone
might expect something more substantial from me if they did...
- Bruce
Krulwich- Another cousin who has a day job that keeps him in the world
of computers and the Internet...
- Robert
Krulwich- the only TV journalist I can stand, maybe because he understands
why I hate TV journalists so much and agrees with some of my reasons...
- Susan
King- My fourth cousin, or something like that. Also the moderator of
soc.genealogy.jewish.
- Friends who took the time to set up pages (Come on guys, get with
it!):
- Adam Grosswirth, because
if all the world's a stage, you'd better have a good stage manager...
- Myra Lotto who runs
the unofficial Fieldston Website, which I think doesn't have nearly enough
orange in it...
Go ahead. Tell me what you think... (jposner@panix.com)
