Comments: Day 1 Observations
I figured you may have, but worth a shot regardless. Since you're in the UK, perhaps some ww2 history by steven ambrose. Or if you're more up for some historical fiction that takes place in the UK/Europe, try Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle trilogy. If you've not already read them, they should keep you busy for a while. I think the first one is called quicksilver.
Ah well, you've probably already read them. Seems like we probably enjoy much of the same type of book.
