I'm working on The Atoms of Language. It's a very accessible and well-written introduction to some of the real issues in linguistics. Human language is like walking--we take it for granted, but it's fascinating how we do it.

A Rush of Blood to the Head is my current favorite album. There's not a bad song on it. The album flows from one song to another in an almost spellbinding journey.

Robert Scoble recommends NewsGator, an RSS aggregator that runs in Outlook. Looks like something to try.

After reading about Spambayes, I decided to give it a shot. I've trained it on about 180 messages to date. It's working pretty well. It's not perfect yet, but it's getting better as I train it on more messages. Now I'm thinking that this kind of machine learning has potential for creating "topic" or "interest" streams in Vision.
