December Events at SUMC
- 12/14 ~ Intergenerational Gingerbread House Creations – join us at 11:30am after service for this festive, holiday event!
- 12/20 ~ “Uncle Fred’s Christmas” featuring the Ten Broeck Players - in the Sanctuary at 7:00 pm
- 12/21 ~ The Living Gospel Ministry present "Joseph’s Journey"
Please join us at 10am as we welcome The Living Gospel Ministry as they present the Nativity like you've never heard it before! If there was one
character that always gets lost in the Christmas drama, it certainly would be Joseph. But how could we so easily forget. Here was a righteous God
fearing man, engaged to the perfect girl, suddenly caught up in a whirlwind of an impossible situation. Not only was his fiancé, who was a virgin,
pregnant with somebody's child, but the "somebody" just happened to be Almighty God. Huh? But yet, even in the face of such bewilderment, Joseph
still did the right thing. From the angels announcement in Nazareth to a cold dark stable in Bethlehem, people will be propelled back to experience
the greatest story ever told. 25 min long.
- 12/21 ~ Blue Christmas Worship Service
At 7pm, there will be a quiet, meditative worship service for anyone who is grieving any kind of loss or hardship during this holiday season. We will
gather to remember, share our hurting places with God, and experience God's grace. This service is also for people helping others in their times of
struggle. Please join us for a time of special music, scripture, stories, silent reflection, and healing prayer. Everyone is invited regardless of

Scotia United Methodist is a congregation of people seeking to follow Christ. For anyone yearning to establish,
or deepen, their relationship with the Lord, we learn to be better Christians and Disciples through our worship,
study and service.
If you’re a new visitor, we look forward to meeting you in person and welcoming you to our
congregation. If you’re one of our old and dear friends, we can’t wait to see you again at the next fellowship
The people of SUMC will always leave the lamp burning, to guide you through your faith journey. And if we get lost along the way, we are not hesitant to ask for direction, through prayer, and we know the Lord will guide us!
…I hope to visit you while passing through and to have you assist me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while.
