Politically significant vandalism: it says "One Tyrol". There used to be only one Tyrol until Italy annexed part of Tyrol after WWI, thus dividing Tyrol into the Italian South Tyrol and the Austrian North and East Tyrol. I saw a poll in the newspaper that said that slightly more than half of the people in South Tyrol would like for South Tyrol to not be part of Italy. They were split as to whether South Tyrol should be part of Austria or should be its own independent state. I don't get the impression, however, that there is a strong organized push going on for any change.

Politisch bedeutende Vandlismus: er sagt "Ein Tirol". Ehemalig gab es nur ein Tirol, bis Italien ein Teil Tirols nach dem ersten Weltkrieg annektierte und Tirol in das Italienischen Südtirol und die Österreichischen Nord- und Osttirol trennte. Ich habe eine Befragung in der Zeitung gelesen; ein bißchen mehr als ein Halb der Leute in Südtirol wollen, dass Südtirol kein Teil Italiens sei. Sie waren aber gespaltet dazwischen, ob Südtirol ein Teil Österreichs oder ein unabhängiges Land sein soll. Ich bekomme aber nicht den Eindruck, dass es eine starke organizierte Bewegung für Veränderung gibt.
