July 25-26, Kayaking/Camping Trip, Norwalk Islands, Norwalk CT We will launch our watercrafts from Calf Pasture Beach Park ($15 entrance fee) in Norwalk to start our adventure to the islands just off the coast. These protected waters make paddling fairly easy in nice weather. It will only take about an hour to get to our destination, depending on our route and the prevailing winds. Please be on time to leave with the group Saturday morning so we have an easier time getting everyone to the island safe and sound. We will have a beautiful L.I. Sound view from our wilderness campsite, and will enjoy paddling to the neighboring islands and exploring. (Download a paddling guide and map here. Kayak rentals available here.) You must bring enough food and water to sustain you for the weekend, however, we plan on taking a very pleasant paddle to one of the shoreside restaurants for an early Saturday night dinner! Solar powered restrooms, no showers. No calls before July 19. Ken 201-388-3685 |
