We're camping on an island in the Delaware River. You can swim, canoe, raft, kayak or tube. The Recreation Area is part of the Delaware & Raritan Canal Park which contains a 30-mile mixed use trail (hiking and biking) along an old railroad bed that parallels the Delaware & Raritan Canal. Green-Wood Cemetery Walking Tour,
Brooklyn NY
Join the 600,000 permanent residents of Green-Wood Cemetery on a fine spring day. John Cashman will lead us through this historic cemetery and explain why, according to the NY Times, "It is the ambition of every New Yorker to live upon the Fifth Avenue, to take his airings in the Park, and to sleep with his fathers in GreenWood." We'll grab a bite afterwards. The walk is $6/person. Meet at 12:45 PM at the Fort Hamilton Parkway gate (at Micelli Place). Accessible by public transportation. NO CALLS BEFORE APRIL 12.

Camp in the largest county park in Westchester (4,700 acres). You can bicycle on the park's roads, hike the trails or ride a horse. The Trailside Museum has specimen animals, native American artifacts and an exhibit about the Leatherman. A nearby garden contains over 100 varieties of wildflowers. Each campsite has a lean-to with a fireplace. You can sleep in the lean-to, pitch your tent nearby or just visit for the day. The bathrooms have toilets but no showers.

Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-27,
Hickory Run State Park, White Haven, PA
Our group site extends deep into the forest. Sit by a tranquil stream less than 1 mile from the site. Lake swimming, excellent fishing, 30 miles of hiking trails, Boulders' Field (a National Natural Landmark), and all-you-can-eat pancake breakfasts at the Hickory House. Near the Lehigh River for canoeing, rafting and tubing. Outhouses by the site, flush toilets and showers by the lake. NO CALLS BEFORE MAY 17.

Wharton State Forest, Hammonton, NJ
Camp in New Jersey's largest state park (over 100,000 acres) in the Pine Barrens. Hike on the Batona Trail, fish in Lake Atsion, canoe on the Mullica River, or see the restored village at Batsto. Flush toilets and hot showers. NO CALLS BEFORE JUNE 7.
Sunday June 23, Cyclones Baseball Game, Brooklyn NY
Turn off the tube and take the train to Coney Island to see a real, live, minor league baseball game. Tickets are $6. Accessible by public transportation. NO CALLS BEFORE JUNE 14.
