Saturday June 30, Mermaid Parade, Coney Island, NY
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the date of the Mermaid Parade has been changed from June 23 to June 30. Calling all mermaids, mermen, merchildren, and mercampers: join the Campers' Group contingent to march in the Mermaid Parade. Dress up in a nautical costume (Neptunes, fish-people, sailors and boats are acceptable in addition to traditional merpeople).

July 4-8, Stokes State Forest, Branchville, NJ
We're returning to shady Group Site H. This park has many hiking trails including six miles of the Appalachian Trail. You can also swim, boat and fish. There are great views from the top of Sunrise Mountain and in the Tillman Ravine Natural Area. Toilets at the site but no showers. Limited to 25 people. NO CALLS BEFORE JUNE 27.

Covered Bridge Campsite,
Livingston Manor, NY
We're returning to an old Campers' Group favorite in the Catskill Mountains. The Willowemoc River winds through the campground and is good for fishing and wading. Swimming and hiking are nearby. The campground owners do not permit radios and strictly enforce the quiet hour from 11 PM to 8 AM. Limited to 12 adults. Children under 16 camp for free. Bathrooms, hot showers, camp store. Sunday July 29, Roosevelt Island Walk, New York City
Meet us on Roosevelt Island for a walk through a community garden and a picnic lunch. Then we'll walk over the 36th Avenue Bridge to Queens to check out Socrates Sculpture Park. Free. Accessible by public transportation. NO CALLS BEFORE JULY 22.
Wednesday August 1, Governors Island Walking Tour, New York City
Tell your boss to take a hike and join us for a 1.5-mile walking tour of this now-vacated island. We'll take a free ferry ride at 10 AM to the former Coast Guard base to see its National Historic Landmark District and 19th century forts. The tour returns from Governors Island at noon. Accessible by public transportation. NO CALLS BEFORE JULY 13.

Hickory Run State Park, White Haven, PA
Our group site extends deep into the forest. Sit by a tranquil stream less than 1 mile from the site. Lake swimming, excellent fishing, 30 miles of hiking trails, Boulders' Field (a National Natural Landmark), and all-you-can-eat pancake breakfasts at the Hickory House. Near the Lehigh River for canoeing, rafting and tubing. Outhouses by the site, flush toilets and showers by the lake. NO CALLS BEFORE JULY 27.
August 17-19, Kittatinny Campground, Barryville, NY
We chose this park because it is near Skinner's Falls, the most exciting part of the Delaware River. You can swim, tube, raft or canoe. Our sites are in a cul-de-sac, very wooded, and near a stream. Flush toilets, hot showers, camp store, laundry machines. NO CALLS BEFORE AUGUST 10.
Labor Day, August 31-September 3,
Worthington State Park, Columbia, NJ
Camp on a group site by the Delaware River. Wade, boat or fish right from the campsite. Hikers can climb the Appalachian Trail to Sunfish Pond, an unspoiled glacial lake, or visit the Mohican Outdoor Center nearby. Chemical toilets by the site, and showers in another part of the park. Limited to 30 people. NO CALLS BEFORE AUGUST 24.

Wharton State Forest, Hammonton, NJ
Camp in New Jersey's largest state park (over 100,000 acres) in the Pine Barrens. Hike on the Batona Trail, fish in Lake Atsion, canoe on the Mullica River, or see the restored village at Batsto. Flush toilets and hot showers. NO CALLS BEFORE SEPTEMBER 7.
