Nearby Lake Placid has indoor and outdoor ice-skating rinks; go to the Olympic Sports Complex or Cascade for x-country skiing; Whiteface Mountain for downhill skiing. March 10-11, Night Out, Symphony Space, Manhattan NY You can be part of some daring outdoor adventures without the risk of getting hurt when you join us at the Banff Mountain Film Festival. For two days, you'll be able to see hours of award winning films that will take you to Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Norway and the good old US of A. During intermission we'll be treated to the calming sounds of an alphorn normally heard in the mountains of Switzerland. March 20-22, Cabin Trip, Nockamixon State Park, Quakertown PA Enjoy the comforts of a warm, electric-heated, furnished cabin while you choose among the many activities available within this state park. You can fish or boat in the 1,450-acre lake, horseback ride, hike, bike ride or just relax with a good book or a game you brought. The cabin accommodates 8 people and costs about $45 per person for the weekend. Please bring your own kitchenware, utensils & bedding. On Saturday, we'll trip on over to Tohickon Valley Park (20 minute drive) to watch kayakers play on the thundering Class 3 & 4 rapids created by Lake Nockamixon's Dam Release.
