Bass River State Forest

18,208 acres of New Jersey Pine Barrens. You can swim in Lake Absegami in the Summer, or rent canoes or other boats from a concession in the park. For hiking, you'll find many sand roads and the Batona Trail.

The park contains 178 family campsites and 3 group sites. Many of the family sites are on the lake. The family sites have hot showers and flush toilets; the group campsites have outhouses.

Near Wharton State Forest and Batsto Village.

Driving directions: Take the Garden State Parkway to exit 52, make a right onto East Greenbush Road towards Leektown, and then turn right onto Stage Road and follow it to the park.
