Campers' Group is a club that organizes camping, cabin, hiking and ski trips, mostly in NJ, NY, PA and CT, and within a three-hour drive of the NYC metro area. We welcome singles, couples and families, experienced campers and newbies, to camp and hike with us.
Join us for camping and hiking in the Catskills! We have reserved a large group site that contains a campfire ring, on-site water, charcoal BBQ grill, multiple picnic tables, and a large canopy set up over the tables. With 160 wooded acres, an entire mile of frontage on the Plattekill Creek, a swimming hole, koi ponds, a stocked bass pond, childrens activities, a camp store, handicapped accessible bathroom and shower facilities, this campground has most everything a camper could ask for. Located near excellent hiking in the Catskill mountains, it is also just a 10 minute drive to Saugerties and 15 minutes to Woodstock NY.
To reserve a spot, send a check for $40.50 made out to Campers Group, to: Campers Group, 48 S. High Street Mt. Vernon, NY 10550. Once the organizer or a trip leader is notified of receipt of your check, you will be added to the RSVP list. For immediate inclusion, pay $41.89 via PayPal on the meetup.com page for this trip.
Fairview Lake YMCA Camp is a full service camping experience, if you want it to be! Just set up camp and leave the cooking and all meals to the camp staff, and organized activities as well, if you pay separately for each. We have reserved a camping area near the far side of the lake that has its own bathroom and showers, fire ring, and even unheated cabins we can occupy if the weather doesnt totally cooperate! The camp sits on mile-long Fairview Lake in Northwestern New Jersey. Their 600 acres adjoin the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, providing access to the Appalachian Trail, the Delaware River, unlimited hiking possibilities and breathtaking views. Two waterfronts and a fleet of canoes, rowboats, kayaks, sailboats, and windsurfers offer a wide variety of waterfront activities. There are three athletic fields for soccer, softball and other field sports, two basketball courts, two tennis courts, a hockey court for in-line skaters, a sand volleyball court, archery and rifle ranges, low and high ropes courses and outdoor climbing walls. You will be able to check in starting late Friday afternoon (check with a trip leader on exact time), or on Saturday morning. When you RSVP, you are paying for both nights. The payment of $34 is for one adult, which will cover the cost to camp with the group. If you want the camps activities included, it is another $20. If you want to eat at the camps dining hall, it is an additional $43 for a Friday night snack (no dinner), Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Sunday breakfast and lunch. You would pay individually for your activities and meals when you check in at the office. During the weekend, we may also split the cost of firewood, if needed.

Take a day or two off from work and extend your weekend with us at this unique hostel (also known as Star of the Sea), and enjoy all that this beautiful island has to offer! Originally a 19th century lifesaving station, the hostels main building has a large kitchen, dining room, and a den. Separate buildings house mens, womens and co-ed dorms. Leave your car in one of the ferry lots on the mainland (remember to pack light), bring or rent a bicycle (or even an electric scooter), and tour the island on miles of bike paths, or take in the flora and fauna by hiking or kayaking. Surfside Beach is just across the street from the hostel. There is even a shuttle bus to take you from the center of the island to the historic whaling village. Enjoy the many shops and seafood restaurants! Please RSVP now on meetup.com to be included in our group hostel discount of $35 per person, per night. Your name will then be added to our list. You can then call the hostel starting on September 2nd (508-228-0433) to make your own non-refundable payment for a bed being held for Campers Group. The hostel will not take a group discount payment before this date. Please then contact Ken the event host to confirm you will be attending, and how many nights. If you do not contact the hostel and pay for your bed, your name may be taken off our list to allow another to join.
