Dingman's Campground

Dingman's Campground
Dingman's Ferry, PA

The campground is operated as a concession on National Park Service land along the Delaware River. You can swim, boat or fish in the river, or hike nearby at Dingman's Falls, Child's Picnic Area or the Pocono Environmental Education Center. The best campsites are along the river; call ahead to reserve them.

The site is patrolled by Park Service rangers (the Feds), so the rules, such as quiet hours, really do get enforced. It's a nice place to bring the family, and a lousy place to drink and shout all night.

Pets are allowed if on leashes. Fire rings are provided. No fireworks or alcoholic beverages. Quiet hours are between 10 PM and 6 AM. The gates are closed from 10 PM to 6 AM! If you show up after 10 PM, you won't get in. No arrivals before 2 PM. (I'm currently researching when the gates are open.)

Driving directions: Take Interstate 80 West to exit 34B to New Jersey Route 15 North. Follow 15 to New Jersey Route 206 North, pass Stokes State Forest, turn left onto New Jersey Route 560 West and follow the signs to Dingman's Bridge. Cross the bridge into Pennsylvania, and turn left at the first light onto Pennsylvania Route 209 South. The campground is on the left side of 209.
