Jenny Jump State Forest
Hope NJ

In 1,202 acres, there are 19 family sites and 2 group sites. Group site A holds 25 people, B holds 40. There is a problem with highway noise on both group sites.

You can boat and fish on Ghost Lake, but swimming is not permitted. However, Catfish Lake (in the Mohican Outdoor Center), the Delaware River (from Worthington State Forest), Oxford Furnace Lake and Lake Hopatcong are not far. The Pequest Trout Hatchery is also nearby.

Five marked hiking trails within the park extend for a total of 4.5 miles. The Summit and Ghost Lake trails have good vistas from which you may see birds of prey. Along some of the trails you'll find large boulders called glacial erratics.

The United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey, Inc. (UACNJ) have established an observatory on top of a mountain in the park. They have installed a 16-inch Newtonian telescope and give presentations to the public on most Saturday evenings from April to mid-October.

The family campsites have composting toilets and hot showers; the group sites have outhouses.
