February 2004 has brought a few new things. I’ve now been working for a month and am settling into the new job. I’m working for Telecomm New Zealand’s Australian consulting business. The work is very similar to the work I was doing in New York. Read all about it here.
We had a wildlife adventure one evening. It was the sort one can do without.
At the end of this month are the Academy Awards. More information on my annual Oscar balloting is available.
John has found a soccer team. The players sound like they’re pretty good but he’s still getting accustomed to the team. In addition to the weekly games they have a practice session during the week so he should feel more comfortable soon. It’s no Beadling, of course, but it’s hard to find the chemistry of a team you played with for over five years in a period of a few months.
We got a car: a silver, 4-door VW Golf. We liked the VW Jetta we had in New Jersey so much that we knew we wanted something similar. John has really missed having a car and I must admit that the convenience is great. Right away we took the opportunity to buy some wicker furniture for the back balcony.
