“Meet the Mets.
Meet the Mets.
Head for the park and greet the Mets!
Uptown, downtown,
Right out at Shea!
Guaranteed to have a heck of a day!”
While many baseball teams have a mascot, only the Mets have one so respected they call him “Mister”. While I didn’t get a chance to catch up on news with Mr. Met during our trip to Shea Stadium, I have shaken his (plush) hand in the past and I must say it was a great honor.
Look! You can see part of the on-deck circle, and a corner of the Mets’ dugout! The red socks on the runner on first show that the Philthies--I mean, Phillies, were batting and they had at least one base runner.
