However, some devices (e.g., video camcorders and lower priced analog cassette recorders) don't have line inputs. For these devices, our attenuator cables are worthwhile accessories.
And if you want to use a bass roll-off filter with your microphones , you can't use the Line input because its impedance is too high for the filter, so you should again be using an attenuator cable with the Mic input.
And when recording from a soundboard's pro-level outputs into a recorder's line inputs, attenuator cables prevent overloading.
Keep in mind that attenuator cables can't be used between a set of microphones and a recorder if your microphones are powered from the recorder's mic input -- what's sometimes called: "Plug-In Power."
The cable is made with the same custom-made, very flexible, rugged cable used in our Core Sound microphones.
The cable is available in two attenuation values: 11 and 20 dB. (Most applications would use the 20 dB cable.) Please specify your preference when you order.
Attenuator cables are priced at $35. Please specifiy whether you prefer the 11 dB or 20 dB values.
Within the continental United States, ground shipping and handling for up to four cables is $5.50, Next Day Air shipping is $20, and Second Day Air is $10; add $3 for South and West. Shipping via U.S. Postal Service to Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia is $17 and $10 to Canada -- if you feel comfortable waiving insurance, we can ship to most of the world for only $8. New Jersey residents must include 6% sales tax.
Payment is via money order or certified check, US funds only. Personal checks are acceptable but allow some additional time for them to clear the bank prior to shipment. COD shipments are available for previous customers -- contact us for details. Please add 3% for Visa or Mastercard credit cards.
