But Frozen Hell is so much more! While still in the IeWS, Reikkesen starred in the action adventure film, Frozen Hell, creating the unforgettable role of Interpol Agent Sven Broderick. When he and Watkins teamed, they took their name from that film.
One film rapidly became a franchise, and Watkins joined Reikkersen on screen and made his debut in Frozen Hell II: Enter the Badman as Interpol Agent Rock Badderman. Midnight Sun Video knew they had a winning combination.
Frozen Hell, the tag team, was prepared to enter the Virtual Wrestling Federation at about that time, but at the last moment, financial backing failed and the VWF folded after a single card. That left Reikkersen and Watkins free to return to the studio. The result was Frozen Hell 3: Cold Warriors.
The release of Frozen Hell 4: Tropical Freeze was timed to coincide with the return to the ring of Frozen Hell in the newly revived Electronic Wrestling Council.
Their stay in the EWC was short and sweet. Reikkersen has been concentring on his acting, while Watkins has kept more of a hand in wrestling. In January of 2002, Watkins signed on with the newly opened Global Wrestling Alliance. Reikkersen did not sign on, but if Bad Brad Watkins is there, can Reikkersen be too far behind?
Cool Talk is a highly rated entertainment program sponsored by ICE (Icelandic Cinema Explosion) Magazine. Recently they had Torvald Reikkersen and Bad Brad Watkins, stars of the Frozen Hell action movie series as guests. What follows is a clip from this show.
{The clip begins with Reikkersen and Watkins sitting on the set with host Thomas Lillelund-Gundersun}
[TLG]
...It's a fantastic movie, I saw it last night. So who has inspired you as
actors?
[Watkins]
Truthfully Tom, no one. I mean, what we do is so cutting edge original
that there really is nobody which we can draw from. It isn't widely known
because we are pretty humble guys, but we actually do most of the writing
for the Frozen Hell movies.
[Reikkersen]
Sure, there have been wrestlers who have tried to cross over into acting,
but with the possible exception of the late great Andre the Giant, the
results were all utterly horrible. I mean, Thunder In Paradise?
We wanted to expand the limits of the medium and we had the talent to do it! Midnight Sun video recognized my star quality and it all fell into place. I was surprised, myself, at my ability as a screen-writer, and when Brad joined the team -- well, the results speak for themselves.
[TLG]
For years now, the highest level of screen beauty has not been
the Bond Girl, but the Frozen Hell Fox. Where do you find them?
[Reikkersen]
Tom, they find us! Given the prestige associated with appearing
in a Frozen Hell film, Brad and I, as well as the casting team
at Midnight Sun, are swamped with submissions.
[TLG]
Let's take a look at a clip. Brad, do you want to set this up for us?
[Watkins]
Sure, I believe what we're going to see is when Sven Broderick and Rock
Badderman are at the Argentinian cockfight and first meet Miss Lolly Popas.
{The clip rolls showing a mass of men huddled around a cockfighting ring when Miss Lolly Popas (Juanita DeCupas) walks in flanked by two large bearded men wearing bandeleros of high calibre ammunition and smoking cigars. The place falls silent at her voluptuous arrival. Her skin tight outfit is almost see-through in the noonday sun.}
[Lolly Popas, fanning herself and delivered in a thick sultry accent]
I feel so faint, it is the heat, can someone help me?
{From the midst of the crowd Rock Badderman steps out in a white tuxedo.}
[Badderman]
I can help you, I'm a doctor....you are in luck, my specialty is women in
heat.
{Lolly Popas looks upon Badderman and lets out a soft moan.}
[Badderman]
But first, lose the Castros.
{The men, irate, pull out AK-47s and begin to chuckle at "Dr." Badderman. Calmly, he looks over to the right. Sitting at a table in safari kit is a man with a panama hat obscuring his features.}
[Man]
Drop the rifles, boys. Don't make me get up, or I'll Che up your
Guevaras and spit them back out.
{The man looks up and is revealed as Sven Broderick. The gunsels look at each other, and then start to raise their rifles. Broderick hurls his drink at one.}
[Broderick]
This Sangria is on the house!
{The man falls clutching his face. Meanwhile, Badderman whips his cummerbund off and lashes it around the barrel of the other man's gun. He yanks and the man spins toward him. Badderman punches him hard in the mouth and he drops.}
[Badderman]
Splattered not stirred!
{The lights on the set come back up, to thunderous applause as Reikkersen and Watkins graciously acknowledge them.}
[TLG]
WOW, I can hardly wait to see it again. Now which one of you has returned
to wrestling?
[Watkins]
That would be me Tom. I decided it would be a thrill to the fans out there
to let them see Rock Badderman in person, and return to the ring. I feel
it is important to give back to the community and the GWA is basically a
charity. I hope they can benefit from my expertise and multiple talents.
