NEW! July 2024:

There was music, video, pictures, and an open mic to remember Yvonne, held both over zoom an in-person at Hoffman Hall, Portland State University.

If you want to make a donation to honor Yvonne's memory, donate to organizations which:

--support women's empowerment and/or work to end violence against women
--promote adoption and/or spaying/neutering of animals
--work for peace and/or the delivery of humanitarian aid
--give youth opportunity to create art, music and/or peace initiatives
--use grassroots reporting to get the word out about any of the above.

Many organizations have an "in memory of" checkbox where you can say the money is to honor Yvonne Simmons.

A virtual memorial took place on Zoom on
Sunday, September 25, 2022.

Technical support was provided by Open Signal/Portland Community Media, which allowed for music, video, and photos to be shared.

A video featuring an edited version of the memorial is available online
at the Flying Focus Video Collective website and youtube.

Yvonne's amazing life ended on July 2, 2022 but her lifetime of working for
peace, justice, women's rights, and helping children and animals endures.
