February 9, 1997

We issued a few hurried invitations over the weekend and threw together what I hoped would be the last screening of the rough cut. Unfortunately, while watching I came up with four more changes that I think I want to make, so I guess we aren't going to call the negative cutter tomorrow. The audience, ten or so friends, were actually quite forthcoming and helpful, and even mildly sympathetic. The yard sale scene got mixed reviews, which is its best showing so far.

In a week Robin is going to become unavailable for about a month, tied up with a busy work assignment and an apartment move. If we are lucky, we'll be able to finish all editing before she goes under, so I can have the negative cut during her absence. If we aren't lucky, the film goes on hold until the ides of March.
