For the last few weeks I've been asking around about the possibility of getting the film into Sundance despite our having missed the October 11 deadline. Tonight, my friend Jon Hofferman wrote me an E-mail from L.A. He's recently become acquainted with a fellow who works at Sundance, and tells me that he can get my film in the door if I finish it no later than Friday, three days from now. That's not much time, but it happens that Robin and I are within shouting distance of a rough cut. Keyed up, I left a message for Robin asking her if she was willing to go for a Friday deadline, and spent the rest of the night preparing the documents for the Sundance application, just in case.
