Wedding Crashers

Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson prove a winning team in this comedy.

The premise of "Wedding Crashers" is wrapped up in its trailer, which is literally the first few minutes of the film. Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson play a pair of DC-based lawyers who spend wedding season crashing weddings successfully. Not by blending into the woodwork but quite the opposite. They do whatever they can to become the center of fun attention in such a way they will wind up bagging some bridesmaids. And it usually works, too.

When the Secretary of the Treasury's daughter is getting married, Vaughn especially is turned on by the prospect of crashing this exclusive black-tie affair, while Wilson is tiring of the games, until he sees a bewitching red-headed bridesmaid.

The pair wind up getting invited back to the secretary's house and the whole experience is something like visiting the Kennedy family, but on Chesapeake Bay. The two leads are engaging as Vaughn is pursued by the youngest daughter. He is anxious to leave, but Wilson has fallen for the middle daughter, and despite her omnipresent boyfriend, is not about to leave before he has a chance to tell her how he feels.

The whole cast is good. Jane Seymour, as a kinky, bored upperclass wife, is a nice surprise, as was Christopher Walken NOT playing a psycho.
