15-18 January 1999: Cinderella Story

Today we said goodbye to one of our co-workers. She came back from the Christmas week off and told us she had gotten herself engaged and was moving to Europe. Amsterdam or London. Goodness, it's a fairy tale, isn't it? Meet Prince Charming and run off to Europe. Isn't that what everyone wants?

Speaking of Prince Charming... I was at the thrift store on Saturday, and a bonafide cutie came in and found a suit he liked. I tried my best to convince him to try it on; I offered to hold his overcoat, and anything else that might get in the way. But it was very cold that day, and the back building gets pretty chilly.

I went to see Sunset Boulevard at A Different Light on Sunday. I really love that movie.

Monday was Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday holiday. You know a holiday is official when you see a profile of the honoree gracing a sale advertisement for an appliance store. That's how we honor our national dead, you see. Postage stamps and appliance store circulars. Isn't that great?
