16 February 1999: UPS Outs Me Further

I had ordered some books from Powell's and they were delayed for an extra week thanks to UPS and my not being home during the day to receive anything from UPS. Of course, that's why I ask Powell's to send me packages by United State Postal Service.

So I asked for UPS to bring it to my office. I normally try to keep personal deliveries at home, etc. Less to carry and I have too much paper in many varieties at work.

Well, today was the day that K and the intern decided to go through the pile of packages that have review copies of books for our authors and editors. Thats when they open what turned out to be my package.

Of course, this is the day my package arrived, containing: Aphrodisiac: The Fiction of Christopher Street (Magazine), The Gay Kama Sutra, and The Faber Book of Gay Short Stories.

This is where gay pride meets the age-old American embarassment about open discussion of anything involving sex.

That, and an intern was present. My goodness!
