On Baby's tongue, where teeth and gumming<br>

Has teeth. Father can see what's coming.<br>

Thumb and finger have learned to pinch<br>
The round treat out of Father's hand.<br>
Little incisors pulverize.<br>
The child eats at his own command.<br>

Not many Anni Domini<br>
Will pass before the kid will filch<br>
A fifth, and guzzle down his first<br>
Illegal swig of Liebfraumilch.<br>
