This was my fourth year doing the NY AIDS Walk, a walkathon/fundraiser that benefits GMHC
and other local organizations that provide AIDS-related services in the New York area. Though raising money is hard work, they make
the event itself a pretty enjoyable experience. Doing the walk is fun. I encourage more people to try it.
With help, much of it from unexpected places, I was able to raise almost $2,500. Add to that matching gifts and the amount was
just shy of $3,000. Thanks to everyone who gave money, encouragement, or both!
Interestingly though we did not seem to have the same fundraising might as we have had in previous years, Team JPMorgan Chase managed to
raise almost $90,000 and was ranked first in donations. I think that is a first, so congrats to the team! Overall the walkathon raised
more than $4,200,000!
