Decible ,on 9th street between second and third avenue, is my kind of place.  A nice sake bar, unfortunately it's a little trendy with the fratboy NYU crowd, and nothing pisses me off more than some frat boy complaining that they don't have Budwiser.  If you get there early it's not too crowded, and the looserboy NYU patrons haven't come and mobbed the place yet.  It's not cheap, but the takoyaki and the Udon appetizers are really worth it, and are substantial enough to replace a real meal.
