These are from September 3rd and 4th.

The squirrel was in a tree about fifty yards away, and pretty high up. I
was able to get several good shots.

The mockingbird was flitting around in a bush beside the trail. The face in
this shot reminds me of that "Angry Birds" game that was all the rage a
while ago.

And look, the heron is back. I haven't seen it in months. It was standing
on that post for I don't know how long before I finally saw it. I watched
as it flew over to the bank and then wandered along for a while.

There were some cedar waxwings in a tree about twenty five feet up,
straight over my head. I tried to get some shots of them until my neck
started cramping.

The male cardinal was in some dense foliage along with some other birds. It
was the only one that sat still long enough for me to take a picture.

Pretty happy the way that bee picture turned out.

And the owl is back! I heard one yesterday (the 3rd) and saw one a couple
of days ago. This one was pretty high up in a tree just off the trail. Not
the best angle, and it was facing away from me most of the time.

Just before I left the woods at the end of my walk I saw a few birds in the
bushes beside the road. This female cardinal was the only one I could
get a picture of.
