The work of every great poet surpasses all attempts to analyze, interpret, or otherwise encircle it by means of discursive argument. At the same time, an authentic writer’s oeuvre creates a circle of community, discovers a clearing (in Heidegger’s sense of that word) in which meaning can circulate freely, and so be renewed.
