A-Zoo Evasion
he fate of Earth Colony Alpha-312 lies in your hands! Depleted of mineral stores necessary for the function of planetary life support systems, you have been sent to Quantor, its mineral-rich satellite. Your mission is to harvest the moon's fertile crust, collecting minerals essential for the continuation of ECa312. Your task is complicated by the presence of exotic indigenous life forms - grotesquely flopping, crawling, infinitely varied, and convulsively undulating. While harvesting, you struggle to avoid the gnashing teeth and clenching pinchers of these innumerable hostile species, relying upon other naturally found elements to defend yourself. A-Zoo Evasion, an original game for the Newton MessagePad platform (OS 2.0 or higher), features animated biomorphic artificial life forms of nearly infinte variety, bred as the game progresses from a gene space of well over one million.
Arcade Pack
Arcade Pack contains four games: Birds with Lances, Frogs vs. Cars, Rocks in Space, and Missile CommAnt. You can order them as a package or individually. Birds with Lances is a game where you take on the role of the pilot of a bird with a lance, and you must fight enemies in a tournament. Frogs vs. Cars is a game in which you take on the role of a frog trying to cross a busy street, and then navigate across a swiftly flowing river. You have to avoid being smooshed by speeding cars and trucks, and then leap from log to log (or turtle, or alligator) and finally to safety in one of the niches at the top of the screen. In Rocks in Space you are a spaceship pilot who must destroy rocks floating around in space, and a few other things that are out there as well. In Missile CommAnt, you must defend your anthills from deadly pesticides, bees, and spiders.
Backgammon
Backgammon for the Newton is based off of the traditional board game. Backgammon can be played with one or two players, or you can even watch the Newton play itself!
Battleship
Finally, Newton users can engage in the classic game of sink or be sunk. Battleship further adds to Newton games by offering a wide variety of game options. Users can play against three different computer opponents or match wits against a human. While Battleship allows two players to play using one Newton, what separates Battleship from most Newton games is that Battleship is IR-Enabled! IR-Enabled Battleship allows two players with two Newtons to go head-to-head in the most deadly game to hit the seven seas!
BGGL
BGGL software is a word finding game. It presents a jumbled set of letters, and you do your best to find words. Using BGGL sharpens your word skills.
Blackjack
Play Blackjack against the Newton. The Newton plays the roll of the dealer, abiding by standard Blackjack rules.
Boxer
Boxer is a first person animated boxing game. You control the action while it happens. You can fight three diffrent levels of opponients, set the round length and the number of rounds, and Boxer is easy to play for left handed or right handed people. Boxer also keeps a record of all human players.
Newton ChessPDA
A full-featured chess database for the Apple Newton MessagePad (all Newton variants). ChessPDA allows you to enter games or chess problems (arbitrary positions) and replay them automatically or one move at a time. You may also take back moves, temporarily mark positions for analysis, revert to previously marked positions, and much more! ChessPDA does legal move verification (legal verification can be turned off) and thus can be used by two players as an electronic chessboard. You may also replay library games or chess problems.
ChessPro
Newton ChessPro 1.00 is the first chess playing title for the Newton. The Newton ChessPro is a full fledged chess playing program complete with an opening moves library and unlimited levels of play. The user can play against the computerized ChessPro opponent or it can be used by two players as an electronic chessboard. ChessPro can even play against itself. The user can optionally play just a few moves and then close the program, then next time the user launches ChessPro, it will remember where the user left off and the user can continue the game.

Coinflip
Newton owners always have a Newton with them, but may not have coins. Look no more. You can choose a Roman coin or a generic token, there's voice output, and for the MP100 crowd there's a lite version included. RAK-ware (see the docs).

hangMan
hangMan software (hM) is a word guessing game. Using hM sharpens your word and spelling skills. hM works with your Newton's dictionary. Over 40 plug-in dictionaries available!
Jig! Strategy Game
In Jig, you and your Newton (or another player) take turns placing tiles, which must fit as if in a jigsaw puzzle. When you match symbols, you capture the other player's tiles. The winner has the most captured tiles when the board is full. It's the perfect game for when you have to wait 5-10 minutes.
Jumble
Jumble is a word search game to be played on the Newton. It is capable of generating an infinite number of diffrent puzzles, with topics ranging from animals to cars. Jumble can be played with a variety of levels, and will keep track of the best played games.
Litton
This is a puzzle program for the Newton. The object of this game is to flip tiles so that all tiles face the same side. When you tap one of 16 tiles on the board, it flips over to show its other side (heads/tails). This in turn cause other tiles to flip as well. Easy, you say? We don't think so.

Mahjongg for the Newton, Version 1.5c
From Sanj Sridhar Vakil's -- Mahjongg is an ancient chinese game usually played by four players with tiles similar to dominos. This is an Newton version for the solitaire game originally seen on the PC and later ported to SunView and then pretty much every other platform in the world.
NewtHack
NewtHack is a new hack and slash adventure game for Newtons with the 2.0 operating system. Traipse around randomly generated dungeon levels, explore rooms and find creatures and treasure within. Newthack is the first Newton game in the style popularized by games such as Rogue and NetHack.
PeggySu 1.0 (17K BinHex)
A puzzle program for the Newton. On the screen is a board with one black peg and many grey pegs. Object of the game is to move the black peg to the center hole by jumping over (and eliminating) other pegs. The less pegs you have at the end of a game, the better your score gets.
Picofermibagels
Similar in concept and strategy to MasterMind and Jotto. For each guess, you will see one or more of - Fermi-a correct digit placed correctly; Pico-a correct digit placed incorrectly; or Bagels-no digits are correct. Winning is indicated by "Fermi" for all digits, and an audible sound. Unlike MasterMind, PicoFermiBagels does not allow duplicate digits. You can choose to work with 2 to 5 digits, and whether or not to include zero. Good numb er practice recognition for the Newton! 1.3 (1/1/96) - NOS 2.0 compatible, created with Newt Development Environment, includes Newt source.
Reptile

SameGame
Remove patterned squares from a game board. The squares can only be removed if they're the same pattern, and adjacent. The goal is to remove all of the squares.
Solo DX 2.0
Solo Deluxe is a Newton version of four popular Solitaire games. With Solo Deluxe, you can play Klondike, Canfield, Pyramid and Aces, each with different playing options.

Stacks
Stacks is a strategy game. You need to "jump" tiles on a board in order to remove them. However, if you jump one tile on top of another, they combine into a more difficult tile to remove. This is very similar to the game Tesserae.

The Newton 3-D Tic Tac Toe game. Play a 3-D Tic Tac Toe Game on a 4 x 4 x 4 grid, it's fun and easy. Also available as a Zip file.
Word Grid
WordGrid is a game to find words contained in a puzzle grid. To find a word, draw a single line on the grid connecting the letters that make up the word. The line does not have to be straight (it can zig-zag and cross) but must be made in a single stroke; you cannot lift the pen until you have connected all the letters. In addition, the minimum length of words is four letters; this limits the number of legal words contained in each grid to a manageable amount.
