112 critics voted in the 2017 Village Voice film poll. I secured 2018 top 10 lists from 85 of them, which is not too bad when you consider that I didn't contact almost anyone directly (because I didn't have their email addresses and was leery of bugging people on Twitter). Many of the folks below emailed their top 10 to me; the other lists were published somewhere, or at least tweeted/podcasted out. (In a few cases, I did some extrapolation; those details are noted on the critic's page.)
Bear in mind that I didn't choose this group of people. A few critics who've never participated in the Voice poll, or who've participated in the past but didn't happen to vote last year, asked whether they could be included; I didn't especially want to open that can of worms, so I stuck firmly to the '17 roster. However, in the event that someone commissions me to do this again next year (with enough lead time to facilitate some research, which would include consulting a bunch of other critics about candidates), I'll surely expand the lineup. There are some very significant names missing at the moment. Yes, I do mean you.
