Comments:
I'm an actress who works as a temp to keep my schedule flexible. Occasionally I take a long term or "temp to perm" assignment because I haven't had a lot of problems doing so. Such was the case with Office Team. My advisor wanted me to interview for a temp to perm assignment, which I did. I immediately didn't like the place: Public Resources Advisory Group. I told Office Team this and they said: "Well, they loved you. Just try it for a week." So, I did and still didn't like it. On Friday I told Office Team, during my lunch break, that I had found a new assignment from another agency starting Monday. Kim reprimanded me for 20 minutes in her office saying that I was "the most unprofessional person she had ever met and that I was required to give them a weeks notice". Keep in mind I'm a TEMP with no employee contract and no benifits. They can let me go without any notice and the same goes for me. It has happened to me many times before. Well, to add insult to injury, when I got my paycheck THEY DIDN'T PAY ME FOR FRIDAY!!! I have a signed time sheet that says I worked 36.5 hours but my paycheck says 29.5 hours. Let me assure you, I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office and The Better Business Bureau. Plus, I am contacting a lawyer. If you or anyone else has any suggestions on how to handle this, please let me know.
