Comments:
I worked with Sloan as a receptionist off and on for three years and, overall, they are quite good. The counselors are very classy, professional and hardworking people. I'm more artsy than corporate (even in a business suit with my hair pulled back I just don't quite pull it off) and they knew just what jobs to send me on. In addition to white collar types, they are hip and like actors and dancers and artists.

Another good quality is that they are realistic and know when the client is full of shit. If a client complains about a temp, they often look into it to weigh it's truth or have the good sense to know that clients can be real assholes.

Sloan's location is right next to Grand Central and easily accesable by train or bus.

The downside to Sloan is their rates. I never got paid more than $10 an hour for reception jobs and, even after working with them for three years, I sometimes got paid nine dollars which is hardly worth it.

Sloan is for people who want to temp for a long time. Although they say they don't mind you going on vacation or going on tour, they really do. Take off a day or a week or three months, you usually can't come back and just start working again right away. You start all over again at the botom of the list and may have to wait weeks, even if you've been with them a long time.
