I have been delighted with Olsten. I had a few weeks between school terms and I needed work immediately. I interviewed with several agencies and Olsten was by far the most professional and efficient. There are a lot of big technology companies in northern New Jersey and I think Olsten just feeds them a constant stream of warm bodies. Vanessa was very pleasant, and she found me a secretarial job at WL--five minutes away from my house!--within hours. The Olsten on-site staff scheduled me for some computer training that I needed for the position, and I started the next day. The job (which has been the ideal short term job--easy, throughly non-stressful, and with the nicest coworkers I could ask for) was originally for two weeks, but it was extended for a third, and would have been extended for a fourth week if I hadn't had to go back to school. Actually, both the on-site staff and a couple of the other innumerable Olsten temps here told me that Olsten would keep me here ad infinitum if I wanted to, endlessly rotating through admin positions.

The Olsten staff is unquestionably more than a little smarmy--full of false praise, etc.--but I like Vanessa a lot and she seems pretty straight. She is EXTREMELY enthusiastic and eager to find you a job! I would recommend asking for her at this office.

The only negative has been the pay--$11/hour. I asked for a minimum fo $12, but considering that I was only available for a few weeks, I was in no position to hold out for it. I also didn't know the whole setup that they have with WL and all of the other big companies up here--Olsten has the job openings, and they want to place you and get their commissions, but they don't want to fork over a penny more than they can get away with. If I were going to do this for a longer period of time, I would be much more stubborn about not taking jobs below a certain minimum.

All in all, though, I recommend the Parsippany office.
