Sunday, January 26, Day Hike, Ramapo Valley Reservation, Mahwah NJ
We will meet for a moderate 5-7 mile hike in this popular park. Snowshoes or Microspikes may be necessary. A steady pace will be maintained to keep warm! It's adjacent to Ringwood State Park, and popular with dog owners. Well-behaved dogs and their owners are welcome, but only after the dog owner contacts the host for permission. Dogs must be on a 6ft leash to start and end the hike.

Dress in synthetic or wool layers, wear hiking boots or an outdoor type shoe, and bring lunch or energy snacks with about 1-2 liters of water. If it is icy, a traction device for the bottom of your boots, such as Microspikes (http://kahtoola.com/product/microspikes/), are highly recommended, or may even be required for safety. They are available from Campmor, REI, Ramsey Outdoor, EMS, Amazon, etc.
