Stokes Cabin blog April 8-10 2011 (written by Sarah on 4/11/2011, status 'Approved')
Crescent moon Peepers near starry lake Our ears ringing, ringing. Woodpeckers knock In early spring oak forest Insects, beware! Our Stokes Cabin trip was a bust in terms of attendance (only myself, David Levner and Ken Quartarone showed up) but a triumph in terms of outdoor fun and wood stove fire camaraderie. David & I climbed stairs up (was it Buttermilk Falls?) a gorgeous waterfall in the morning. As trees were still bare, views were great. In the afternoon the 3 of us took a 5-mile hike nearby and heard....woodpeckers. The spring peepers were amazing, and Ken & I went to the lake after dark. Hence, these haiku above. The cabin was great after the maintenance staff turned on the heat. Sarah D.
