From our most recent newsletter: The Great Swamp, created approximately 15,000 years ago by melting Wisconsin glacial waters, is a mixture of marsh, meadow, dry wood and brush-covered swamp habitats. Walking along the refuge's many paths we'll experience nature at its most primitive. This suburban refuge offers easy hikes on dirt trails, and long boardwalks with wildlife blinds. Peer through the park's binoculars to seek out more than 244 species of birds, fox, deer, muskrat a wide variety of wildflowers and more. After our hike we'll enjoy Mexican food at Casa Maya.
