{"id":175604,"date":"2021-01-11T20:07:00","date_gmt":"2021-01-12T01:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2021\/01\/11\/susan-collins-is-peewee-herman\/"},"modified":"2021-01-11T20:07:00","modified_gmt":"2021-01-12T01:07:00","slug":"susan-collins-is-peewee-herman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2021\/01\/11\/susan-collins-is-peewee-herman\/","title":{"rendered":"Susan Collins is Peewee Herman"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<div style=\"border-color: black; border-image: none; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; border: 1px solid black; float: right; margin: 0px 10px; padding: 5px; text-align: center; width: 330px;\">  <iframe loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"180\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/D0bztv4IREs\" width=\"320\"><\/iframe><br \/><i>I Think They&#8217;re Iranians<br \/><\/i><\/div>\n<p>In an interview with the <i>Bangor Daily News<\/i>, Susan Collins said that when the terrorist attacked the Capitol on Wednesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/bangordailynews.com\/2021\/01\/11\/opinion\/contributors\/democracy-prevailed-over-the-rioters-who-sieged-the-capitol\/\">she thought that it was the Iranians<\/a>, because \u2026\u2026\u2026 because \u2026\u2026\u2026 because \u2026\u2026\u2026 because \u2026\u2026\u2026 OK, I have no clue as to why she would say this for a non-nefarious reason. <\/p>\n<p>  My guess though, is that this is, much like it was for Peewee Herman in <i>Cheech and Chong&#8217;s Next Movie<\/i>, (I am not suggesting that she was caught masturbating in a porno theater) it was a ploy   to manipulate the situation, because Susan Collins is a profoundly evil person   who lies like the rest of us breath: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>  <span style=\"color: #2b00fe;\">\u2026\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The proceedings began calmly enough. Around 1 p.m., we     senators proceeded to the House for a joint session. Soon there was     <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/alisondurkee\/2021\/01\/06\/congress-approves-arizonas-electoral-votes-following-gop-objections-capitol-siege\/\">an objection<\/a>, baseless in my view, to accepting the electoral count from Arizona. We     returned to the Senate to begin our two-hour debate with senators, beginning     a series of 5-minute speeches. Sen. James Lankford had just started speaking     when, all of a sudden, the Capitol Police and staff from the Sergeant at     Arms burst into the chamber and removed Vice President Mike Pence who was     presiding. Shortly thereafter, the two Senate leaders were also rushed away.     <\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-size: 100%; font-variant: small-caps;\">My first thought was that the Iranians had followed through on     their threat to strike the Capitol<\/span><\/b>, but a police officer took over the     podium and explained that violent demonstrators had breached the entire     perimeter of the Capitol and were inside. Several of us pointed out that the     doors to the press gallery were unlocked right above us.
