{"id":175937,"date":"2020-10-19T18:50:00","date_gmt":"2020-10-19T23:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2020\/10\/19\/smart-move\/"},"modified":"2020-10-19T18:50:00","modified_gmt":"2020-10-19T23:50:00","slug":"smart-move","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2020\/10\/19\/smart-move\/","title":{"rendered":"Smart Move"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Michigan Secretary of State <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2020\/10\/16\/michigan-bans-open-carry-guns-polling-places\/3676462001\/\">has banned the open carry of firearms within 100 feet of polling places<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The theory is that open carry of weapons at a polling place is a clear attempt to intimidate, which it is.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, the ammosexual crowd are squealing like the pigs that they are:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #2b00fe;\">Michigan is prohibiting the open carry  of guns within 100 feet of polling places amid fears of voter  intimidation during the pivotal Nov. 3 election, prompting criticism  from the National Rifle Association<strong><\/strong>and the possibility of a lawsuit from Second Amendment advocates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2b00fe;\">Secretary  of State Jocelyn Benson sent guidance to local election officials on  Friday \u2014 18 days before Election Day \u2014 to clarify that the open carry of  firearms on Election Day&nbsp;in polling places, clerk\u2019s offices and  absent&nbsp;voter counting boards is banned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2b00fe;\">&#8220;The  presence of firearms at the polling place, clerk\u2019s office(s), or absent  voter counting board may cause disruption, fear or intimidation for  voters, election workers and others present,&#8221; the new guidance says.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Open carry these days is primarily an attempt to intimidate people that the ammosexual crowd disagree with.&nbsp; It has been for decades.<\/p>\n<p>The intent is to terrorize their opponents, and they should be treated as such.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Michigan Secretary of State has banned the open carry of firearms within 100 feet of polling places.
