{"id":176742,"date":"2020-03-31T20:47:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-01T01:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2020\/03\/31\/of-course-she-is\/"},"modified":"2020-03-31T20:47:00","modified_gmt":"2020-04-01T01:47:00","slug":"of-course-she-is","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2020\/03\/31\/of-course-she-is\/","title":{"rendered":"Of Course She Is"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nancy Pelosi has a plan for additional stimulus, and the details, that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/03\/30\/business\/economy\/coronavirus-economic-stimulus-taxes.html\">it will only put meaningful money in the pockets of people who make significantly more than $100,000.00 a year<\/a> should surprise no one:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: blue;\">As lawmakers prepare for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/03\/30\/us\/politics\/congress-coronavirus-relief.html\">another round of fiscal stimulus<\/a> to address economic fallout from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/news-event\/coronavirus\">the coronavirus pandemic<\/a>, Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested the next package include a retroactive rollback of a tax change that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbpp.org\/research\/federal-tax\/repealing-salt-cap-would-be-regressive-and-proposed-offset-would-use-up-needed#_ftnref4\">hurt high earners<\/a> in states like New York and California.<\/p>\n<p>A full rollback of the limit on the state and local tax deduction, or SALT, would provide a quick cash infusion in the form of increased tax rebates to an estimated 13 million American households \u2014 nearly all of which earn at least $100,000 a year.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The congressional Joint Committee on Taxation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jct.gov\/publications.html?func=startdown&amp;id=5206\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\">estimated last year<\/a>  that a full repeal of the SALT limit for 2019 alone would reduce  federal revenues by about $77 billion. Americans earning $1 million a  year or more would collectively reap $40 billion of those benefits.
