{"id":176750,"date":"2020-03-30T18:44:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-30T23:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2020\/03\/30\/why-i-disdain-woke-culture\/"},"modified":"2020-03-30T18:44:00","modified_gmt":"2020-03-30T23:44:00","slug":"why-i-disdain-woke-culture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2020\/03\/30\/why-i-disdain-woke-culture\/","title":{"rendered":"Why I Disdain &#8220;Woke Culture&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Because more often than not, I see it used an an excuse for egregious behavior, such as the case of debt collectors demanding that there be no suspension of debt collection because, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/theintercept.com\/2020\/03\/27\/debt-collection-industry-deems-itself-essential-to-financial-health-of-consumers-fights-covid-shutdown\/\">Women make up 70 percent of the total debt collection workforce and 40 percent is ethnically diverse<\/a>.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>All too often it seems to be an excuse for saying or doing something contemptible:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: blue;\">Debt collectors, facing growing demands to freeze the collection of debt across the country amid the economic hardship caused by the coronavirus pandemic, are mobilizing their lobbyists to push back.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n<p>All of this has the industry deeply concerned.
