She has asked her husband, an award-winning science-fiction author who doesn\u2019t drive, to wear a shiny vest while cycling to ensure autonomous vehicles spot him in a rush of activity.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span> <span style=\"color: blue;\">The problem isn\u2019t that she doesn\u2019t understand the technology. It\u2019s that she does, and she knows how flawed nascent technology can be.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span> <span style=\"color: blue;\">\u201cI\u2019m not skeptical long-term,\u201d said Brenchley, who has lived in Silicon Valley for 30 years. \u201cI don\u2019t want to be the guinea pig.
