{"id":177571,"date":"2019-08-15T18:19:00","date_gmt":"2019-08-15T23:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2019\/08\/15\/bye-felicia-3\/"},"modified":"2019-08-15T18:19:00","modified_gmt":"2019-08-15T23:19:00","slug":"bye-felicia-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2019\/08\/15\/bye-felicia-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Bye Felicia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>John Hickenlooper, corporate tool and friend of the fracking industgry, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/08\/15\/us\/politics\/john-hickenlooper-drop-out-senate.html\">is suspending his Presidential campaign<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Still, he thinks that there is a place for him in politics, standing athwart progress saying, &#8220;Better things aren&#8217;t possible.&#8221; <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: blue;\">John Hickenlooper, the former Colorado governor whose low-key brand of moderate politics made him popular in his home state but limited his appeal in a Democratic primary filled with urgent progressive energy, announced on Thursday that he was ending his presidential campaign.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">Mr. Hickenlooper has been seriously considering a run for the Republican-held Senate seat in Colorado that is up for election in 2020 \u2014 a key pickup target in the Democrats\u2019 strategy to try to retake control of the Senate.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">\u201cToday, I\u2019m ending my campaign for president,\u201d he said in a videotaped statement. \u201cBut I will never stop believing that America can only move forward when we work together.\u201d<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: blue;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"color: blue;\">\u201cI\u2019ve heard from so many Coloradans who want me to run for the United States Senate,\u201d he added. \u201cThey remind me how much is at stake for our country. And our state.
