{"id":178044,"date":"2019-03-23T18:55:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-23T23:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2019\/03\/23\/dont-give-to-the-dccc\/"},"modified":"2019-03-23T18:55:00","modified_gmt":"2019-03-23T23:55:00","slug":"dont-give-to-the-dccc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panix.com\/~msaroff\/40years\/2019\/03\/23\/dont-give-to-the-dccc\/","title":{"rendered":"Don&#8217;t Give to the DCCC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>I&#8217;ve mentioned on many times that the DCCC (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) does a piss-poor job of supporting real Democrats when they run for Congress.<\/div>\n<p>Now the DCCC is saying that <a href=\"https:\/\/theintercept.com\/2019\/03\/22\/house-democratic-leadership-warns-it-will-cut-off-any-firms-who-challenge-incumbents\/\">it will blacklist any political consultants who work for someone challenging an incumbent<\/a>: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: blue;\">The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee warned political strategists and vendors Thursday night that if they support candidates mounting primary challenges against incumbent House Democrats, the party will cut them off from business. <\/p>\n<p>The news was officially announced Friday morning, paired with a statement on the committee\u2019s commitment to diversity in consulting \u2014 \u201cwhich, obviously, is just to give themselves cover,\u201d a Democratic political consultant who learned of it Thursday told The Intercept. The consultant asked for anonymity given their relationship with the DCCC, and the party organization\u2019s professed strategy of blacklisting firms that don\u2019t fall in line. <\/p>\n<p>To apply to become a preferred vendor in the 2020 cycle, firms must agree to a set of standards that includes agreeing not to work with anyone challenging an incumbent. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand the above statement that the DCCC will not conduct business with, nor recommend to any of its targeted campaigns, any consultant that works with an opponent of a sitting Member of the House Democratic Caucus,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/action.dccc.org\/sign-up\/political-vendors\">form<\/a> reads.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If you make campaign donations to Democrats, it is likely that the DCCC has contacted you.<\/p>\n<p>Just say no.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve mentioned on many times that the DCCC (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) does a piss-poor job of supporting real Democrats when they run for Congress.
