And then there is waking up in the morning, and not only do you realize that you are running the Cleveland Browns, but you discover that you have to deny that you are interviewing Condoleeza “130,000 Ton Dead Weight” Rice to be your next football coach<\/a>:<\/div>\n

Condoleezza Rice and Cleveland Browns General Manager John Dorsey shot down the day\u2019s most surprising NFL report, that the team wanted to make the former U.S. Secretary of State and national security adviser the first woman to interview for a head coaching position. <\/p>\n

Rice, a lifelong Browns fan, used the buzz generated by the report, from ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a>, to call for an increase in the number of women in the coaching ranks. \u201cI love my Browns \u2014 and I know they will hire an experienced coach to take us to the next level,\u201d she wrote (via the Associated Press<\/a>). <\/p>\n

“On a more serious note, I do hope that the NFL will start to bring women into the coaching profession as position coaches and eventually coordinators and head coaches. One doesn\u2019t have to play the game to understand it and motivate players. But experience counts \u2014 and it is time to develop a pool of experienced women coaches. <\/p>\n

\u201cBTW, I\u2019m not ready to coach, but I would like to call a play or two next season if the Browns need ideas! And at no time will I call for a \u2018prevent defense\u2019!\u201d <\/p>\n

Dorsey added that Rice \u201chas not been discussed\u201d as a candidate to succeed Hue Jackson.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
