The cover of tomorrow&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYDailyNews?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@NYDailyNews<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RI15NW95a6\">pic.twitter.com\/RI15NW95a6<\/a><\/div>\n<p>\u2014 Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kylegriffin1\/status\/1032816065477271552?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 24, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><i>I Love NY Daily News Headlines<\/i><\/div>\n<p>I have heard a number of people suggest that the scandal rag is run by a pecker.<\/p>\n<p>Little did know that this was literally true, and that the schmuck has <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/blog-briefing-room\/news\/403279-prosecutors-grant-immunity-to-national-enquirer-publisher-in?userid=274799\">been granted immunity by prosecutors<\/a>, which means that he can be forced to testify before a grand jury:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: blue;\">Prosecutors reportedly granted immunity to David Pecker, the CEO of the company that publishes National Enquirer, as part of their investigation into <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/donald-trump\">President Trump<\/a>&#8216;s longtime lawyer Michael Cohen.<\/p>\n<p>Pecker met with the prosecution to discuss Cohen&#8217;s involvement in Trump&#8217;s hush-money deals with women leading up to the 2016 presidential election, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/pecker-granted-immunity-in-cohen-case-1535041976?mod=e2tw\">The Wall Street Journal reported<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Pecker has emerged as a central figure in the scandal involving the payments. CNN last month released audio of Trump and Cohen discussing payment to a former Playboy model, Karen McDougal, in which Cohen apparently references Pecker, telling Trump that he needs \u201cto open up a company for the transfer of all of that info regarding our friend David.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dylan Howard, the chief content officer at American Media, the Enquirer&#8217;s publisher, will also not be criminally charged, according to the Journal. Neither the two men nor American Media responded to the newspaper&#8217;s request for comment.Pecker&#8217;s possible involvement in the payments first drew attention when <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/blog-briefing-room\/news\/304469-report-national-enquirer-withheld-story-about-trump-affair\">The Wall Street Journal reported<\/a> in November 2016 that the Enquirer had withheld a story about an alleged affair McDougal had with Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The Enquirer reportedly paid McDougal $150,000 for a story about the alleged affair in 2006, but never published it.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Seriously, this is too absurd for a <i>Blackadder<\/i> series.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oh dear.
